Zscaler Advances Agilent’s Transition to the Cloud and SD-WAN

Agilent, a global leader in life sciences and diagnostics with about 12,500 users across 120 sites in 30+ countries, needed a more cost-effective, secure way to support a cloud-first strategy. With 90 of 120 locations tied to MPLS and more than 60% of traffic destined for the Internet, the company faced performance, cost, management and visibility problems that forced expensive custom work at larger offices.

Agilent deployed Zscaler (Internet Access, Bandwidth Control and Cloud Firewall) at regional offices and integrated it with Viptela SD‑WAN to inspect and prioritize Internet-bound traffic without on‑premises appliances. The combined solution cut costs, improved visibility, control and security, sped provisioning by about 80%, enabled faster onboarding of partners and acquisitions, and delivered Internet transport performance equal to or better than MPLS with no user-impacting issues.
