VINCI Energies, the Energy division of VINCI group with some 60,000 employees across 1,500 companies, needed to replace a complex, appliance-based web filtering setup and secure Internet access for 28,500 users across many remote sites. After CEGELEC (11,000 users) reached contract end, the group sought a SaaS solution that required no workstation agents, offered global points-of-presence and strong protection against advanced threats, while being easy to deploy and manage.

They selected Zscaler and rolled it out first for CEGELEC in 2011 and across VINCI Energies by 2012. The cloud service delivered seamless LDAP integration, local Internet access (reducing MPLS load), automatic updates, consolidated logging and reporting, and improved user performance. Results included over 33% cost savings versus the prior solution, reduced architectural complexity and admin effort, better security posture and a faster, more consistent web experience for users worldwide.
