A Zscaler Case Study
Ulster‑Greene ARC is a nonprofit that supports people with autism and other developmental and intellectual disabilities. To protect sensitive medical data they had been backhauling web traffic from 35 sites to three central proxy appliances for static URL filtering, which caused latency and performance problems, blocked legitimate web apps, left mobile/remote users unprotected, and made HIPAA-compliant data‑loss prevention difficult.
By moving to Zscaler’s cloud‑delivered service each site forwards Internet traffic for real‑time, policy‑based threat inspection and DLP. This eliminated backhaul and on‑prem appliances, improved performance, enabled granular Web 2.0 filtering and protection for road warriors, lowered TCO and IT overhead, and strengthened HIPAA‑compliant data‑loss prevention so staff can focus on core services.
