Tower Enables Employees to Securely Work-from-Anywhere with the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange

Tower, a 150+ year-old shareholder-owned P&C insurer headquartered in Auckland serving 300,000+ customers across New Zealand and eight Pacific islands, needed to enable secure work-from-anywhere access and a better Microsoft 365 experience as it rolled out a cloud-based insurance platform. Its legacy perimeter and appliance-based security lacked the agility, scalability and visibility required for a distributed workforce.

Tower adopted the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange (ZIA, Cloud Firewall and Cloud Sandbox), moving inspection and policy enforcement to the cloud to enable local internet breakouts, centralized management and automated reporting. The change improved M365 performance, provided granular logging and threat prevention, significantly reduced malware incidents, cut appliance overhead, ensured uninterrupted remote work during COVID-19 and established a foundation for continued zero-trust expansion.
