The University of South Carolina Achieves CMMC Compliance

The University of South Carolina’s College of Engineering and Computing needed a secure, scalable environment for the Carolina Enclave for Secure Research to support more than 50 researchers working on sensitive Department of Defense projects. The team required a solution with no on-premises hardware, strong content filtering, remote access support, and federal compliance capabilities, and turned to Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange to help meet CMMC, DFARS, and related requirements.

Zscaler implemented a cloud-native zero trust platform using Zscaler Internet Access and Zscaler Private Access, with integrations to Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Intune for seamless authentication and device management. The result was faster onboarding, easier user access, improved security, and transparent compliance support; the university reported deployment in a matter of weeks, user onboarding reduced from several weeks to just a couple of days, and better control over sensitive data and attack surface.
