The Bank of Saga Supports Digital Transformation on the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange

The Bank of Saga, a community-focused regional bank in Saga Prefecture with 1,200+ employees, needed to modernize security to support a cloud-first digital transformation. Its perimeter-based architecture, aging appliances and costly VPNs were slowing SaaS adoption, increasing management overhead and exposing private apps and data to risk across the group.

The bank deployed Zscaler’s Zero Trust Exchange (ZIA and ZPA), moved to direct‑to‑internet access, replaced VPNs with zero trust app access and enabled SSO for user convenience. The rollout secured ~1.8K users with consistent policies, protected private banking apps, streamlined the security stack and cut communication costs by about one‑third while improving productivity.
