Sanitas, a large, high-growth medical insurance company headquartered in Madrid with 11,700+ employees across Spain, Europe and Latin America, faced fragmented security across separate business units, slow and insecure VPN-based access, and partner offices that couldn’t reach corporate applications or data centers. The organization needed a cloud-native, zero-trust approach to secure users and applications wherever they worked.

Sanitas implemented Zscaler Internet Access and the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange, replacing VPNs and rolling out a homogeneous zero-trust model in about 2.5 months. The platform now protects roughly 12,000–15,000 users, eliminates the need to backhaul traffic to data centers, enables secure partner and remote access with an office-like experience, and supports a flexible, work-from-anywhere business.
