PulteGroup Builds a Home in the Cloud with the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange

PulteGroup, one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S. with more than 6,000 employees and operations in 40+ cities, faced an aging, on-premises IT footprint built around a hub‑and‑spoke network and MPLS backhauling. Legacy hardware, a 12‑year‑old application stack, and the need to simplify systems management and accelerate cloud and Microsoft 365 adoption made a modern, cloud‑first architecture imperative.

PulteGroup moved to a hybrid, cloud‑centered model using Zscaler’s Zero Trust Exchange (ZIA and ZPA) to enable local internet breakouts, secure SaaS access, and reduced dependence on MPLS and data‑center hardware. The new design lowered costs by cutting on‑premises maintenance, improved connectivity and user experience with local routing, sped Microsoft 365 deployment, and delivered a more flexible, easier‑to‑manage application architecture.
