Probe CX Phases Out VPNs to Secure 7,600 Employees and Critical Apps on the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange

Probe CX, one of Australia’s largest customer experience and business process outsourcers (19,000 staff across 32 delivery locations), faced scaling and security challenges as it rapidly moved to the cloud and adopted a hybrid workforce. Multiple legacy VPNs and inconsistent remote-access policies limited visibility, complicated microsegmentation, increased phishing/ransomware risk, and made M&A integrations and policy management slow and labor-intensive.

Probe CX implemented the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange—rolling out ZIA for internet/SaaS access, ZPA to replace VPNs for private apps, and ZDX for digital experience monitoring—centralizing policy and integrations with Okta, VMware SD‑WAN and Rapid7. The result: on track to retire 100% of VPNs, zero trust for 7,600 users across five countries, ~285 TB of traffic processed per quarter, 3.1 million threats blocked in three months, simplified security management and a lower total cost of ownership.
