Lawter is a 60‑year global supplier of resins and additives with operations in over 20 countries and 11 manufacturing and technology centers. Its IT footprint spanned 15 distributed locations, and the small IT team needed to address staff mobility, remote access, improved web security and DLP, and bandwidth prioritization for a planned Office 365 rollout—while avoiding added on‑premise hardware. Backhauling traffic to headquarters for firewall scanning was creating latency and harming performance.

Lawter chose Zscaler’s cloud‑based Web Security platform to apply uniform security and Web 2.0 policies, enable local Internet breakouts, and prioritize Office 365 traffic without deploying new appliances. The SaaS solution delivered advanced malware scanning, DLP, centralized management and reduced MPLS traffic, giving the company better security for mobile workers, improved network performance and lower ongoing management overhead for the small IT team.
