Keiju Medical Center Transforms Digital Patient Care on the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange

Keiju Medical Center, a 400+ bed hospital in Nanao City, Japan with 800+ staff and a long history of digital innovation, needed secure, easy remote access to its EMR and hospital systems so clinicians could work flexibly and support regional care. Traditional perimeter firewalls and VPNs limited remote connectivity, hindered recruitment of distant physicians, and increased risk to sensitive patient data.

Keiju adopted Zscaler’s Zero Trust Exchange—using Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) and Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA)—to provide cloud-native, zero-trust access from iPhones and direct-to-internet connectivity, eliminating VPN appliances. The rollout secures 500+ mobile devices (about 520 iPhones), protects EMR access for staff, expands work-from-anywhere flexibility and recruitment reach, and simplifies operations to improve patient care.
