Case Study: DB Schenker achieves rapid, scalable remote access and business continuity with Zscaler Private Access

A Zscaler Case Study

Preview of the DB Schenker Case Study

How a commitment to the cloud facilitated remote access for DB Schenker’s global workforce

DB Schenker, a global logistics and freight‑forwarding company with about 76,000 employees in 1,400 locations across 80+ countries, faced a sudden business‑continuity crisis when COVID‑19 disrupted its Chinese operations. The company’s legacy VPN concentrators could not scale fast enough to support a widespread shift to home working, so IT needed a rapid way to enable secure, remote access for thousands of employees.

Because DB Schenker had already pursued a cloud‑first “Global Workplace Management” strategy and deployed Zscaler Internet Access, the team piloted and rolled out Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) in early February. Within about two-and-a-half weeks they ramped thousands of users (≈8,000 in APAC) onto ZPA, avoided VPN bottlenecks, sustained business continuity, and delivered a simpler, preferred remote‑access experience that the company views as a lasting competitive advantage.
