HARTMANN Group, a nearly 200‑year‑old healthcare company with about 10,000 employees and products in roughly 100 markets, faced performance bottlenecks and insecure mobile access during its Microsoft Office 365 rollout. Low‑bandwidth links to headquarters and the need to maintain security hardware at many sites threatened cloud performance and increased IT administrative overhead.

HARTMANN moved to Zscaler’s cloud‑delivered security platform, using local Internet breakouts and GRE tunnels to send Office 365 traffic directly to the cloud and leveraging a cloud NGFW. The change eliminated many on‑premises firewalls, improved Office 365 performance, secured mobile users, reduced bandwidth and hardware costs, and simplified IT administration.
