A Zscaler Case Study
Carlsberg, the Copenhagen-based global brewer with 41,000 employees and 140 brands sold in 150 markets, launched its Sail ’22 program to modernize IT, move legacy applications to the cloud, embrace Office 365, control costs, and strengthen security. Its legacy hub-and-spoke network and MPLS-centric architecture caused slow performance, poor user experience, limited visibility, and operational complexity—prompting a company-wide overhaul including Windows 10 upgrades, app and server consolidation, and a full SAP migration to Azure.
Carlsberg deployed SD‑WAN and Zscaler Internet Access to enable local internet breakouts, secure cloud-native user access, and one‑click optimization for Office 365. The migration—completed without business downtime—shifted about 90% of traffic to secure internet connections, simplified policy management, improved visibility into users and applications, prioritized critical Office 365 traffic for better performance, and accelerated the company’s cloud transformation with streamlined operations and faster connectivity.
