A Zscaler Case Study
FrieslandCampina, a global dairy producer with 22,000+ employees and around 80 factories in more than 100 countries, faced an aging MPLS-centered WAN, rising security demands, and growing OT/IoT complexity. The company needed to reduce WAN and security hardware costs, improve SaaS and Microsoft 365 performance, and shift to a more internet-centric, application-focused network that supports localized content and a hybrid workforce.
FrieslandCampina migrated to the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange—moving proxy and firewall functions to the cloud, terminating IPsec tunnels at Zscaler nodes, enabling secure local internet breakouts, and adopting SD-WAN and AWS for elastic hosting. The transformation cut MPLS and hardware costs, delivered dynamic application routing and faster application access, improved the overall user experience, and simplified deployment and security for SaaS and Microsoft 365.
