Case Study: Siemens AG achieves up to 70% cost reduction and faster, secure cloud access with Zscaler

A Zscaler Case Study

Preview of the Siemens AG Case Study

Embracing the internet as the new network

Siemens, a global leader in energy-efficient technologies, faced a network challenge as user traffic increasingly went to the internet and cloud services rather than the corporate network. With 350,000 users, over 30,000 contractors, 2,200 offices in 192 countries, Siemens determined its hub-and-spoke architecture could no longer meet performance and cloud adoption needs and decided to move to a direct-to-internet model.

Partnering with Zscaler, Siemens implemented an elastic, cloud-native network and security platform that delivers fast access to cloud apps, end-to-end security for user-to-cloud, cloud-to-cloud and IoT traffic, and greater resiliency via distributed security gateways. The modern architecture is expected to cut networking costs by about 70% while improving performance and scalability for a globally distributed workforce.
