Canada Life Achieves Hybrid Cloud Transformation

Canada Life, a 178‑year‑old financial services and insurance group managing $1.2 trillion in assets and 10,500+ employees across Canada and Europe, needed a strategic partner to modernize its IT while preserving security and compliance. As a risk‑averse, heavily regulated organization with legacy mainframes and rapidly adopted cloud services, the company faced cultural, financial and technical challenges in moving to a hybrid cloud and enabling secure remote access for internal users, partners and independent advisors.

By deploying Zscaler’s Zero Trust Exchange (including ZIA), Canada Life implemented an end‑to‑end proxy architecture across 150+ global data centers that provides secure access for staff and third parties, full inline inspection including TLS/SSL traffic, and ransomware/threat protection. The solution streamlined cloud adoption, reduced incident volumes through layered defenses, and delivered consistent, secure connectivity and inspection across the hybrid environment.
