A Zscaler Case Study
Bizerba SE & Co. KG, a 4,600-employee global leader in weighing and slicing technology based in Balingen, Germany, faced a critical challenge when a cyberattack exposed vulnerabilities in its legacy VPN and shut down global systems. The company needed to rapidly rebuild its security infrastructure, migrate to cloud-based identity services, and replace the compromised VPN with a scalable, cloud-native zero trust solution to restore secure remote access and protect operational technology.
Bizerba implemented the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange—deploying Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Client Connector—to eliminate VPNs, make private apps invisible to the internet, and inspect traffic inline. Deployed globally in hours, the new architecture now processes about 830 million transactions per month, prevents roughly 59 million policy violations monthly, blocked 34,000+ encrypted threats in three months, and reduced operational complexity while enabling secure, seamless remote work and accelerating the company’s zero trust roadmap.
