A Journey Toward Zero Trust and a SASE Architecture

TT Electronics, a 200+-year-old global engineered electronics firm with ~4,800 employees across 29 locations, faced growing performance and security problems as users and apps moved to the cloud. Its MPLS-based network and legacy VPNs struggled with bandwidth and latency, undermining remote work and centralized IT goals—issues that became urgent during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

TT implemented Zscaler’s Zero Trust Exchange (ZPA and ZIA), expanding a POC into a rapid rollout—deploying ZPA to 3,000+ workers in three weeks and enabling browser-based RDS access in China. The SASE approach delivered granular app-level policies, seamless remote access, markedly better user experience, vendor consolidation, and an expected 30–40% cost reduction while paving the way for SD‑WAN and further integrations.
