Massachusetts Maritime Academy partnered with Zozimus Agency to improve its applicant pool by reaching more students from Massachusetts Gateway Cities, especially underrepresented communities. The academy needed a more strategic paid media and social media approach to engage these underserved markets as demographics shifted across New England.

Zozimus Agency built a precision-targeted campaign using social media and paid media, starting with eight Gateway Cities and expanding to 26 across Massachusetts, plus select states like Georgia and Florida. The campaign included bilingual English and Spanish messaging and targeted Hispanic and African American parents and teens on Facebook. Results included 63 million impressions, 5,800 clicks, and 450 conversions, and by 2023 MMA had shifted most of its marketing budget toward Gateway Cities and similar priority markets.
