Sekisui Chemical, a diversified Japanese manufacturer in housing, infrastructure and chemical solutions, needed to unify its web conferencing tools across group companies and devices while ensuring interoperability with its existing "Smile" groupware, support for PCs, iOS/Android tablets, and tight security controls. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the shift to telecommuting and made ease of use for non–IT-savvy staff, compatibility with secure tablets and iPads, and integration with the company’s authentication infrastructure urgent priorities.

Sekisui deployed Zoom Meetings, Webinars and Zoom Rooms—rolling out 27,000 licenses and working with Zoom’s technical team to integrate sub-accounts and authentication—making Zoom the companywide platform for remote work, recruitment and webinars. The result: streamlined meetings and faster, real-time collaboration (sales can consult design staff from client sites), higher voice/video quality, expanded remote work and improved work–life balance, and new marketing and recruitment channels via webinars.
