Ulster Board of Cooperative Educational Services used Zoom and Neat to creatively engage remote students in hybrid classrooms

Ulster BOCES, which supports career and technical education and technology integration across eight school districts in Ulster County, New York, faced the sudden need to move to remote and hybrid learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. District leaders needed a reliable way to recreate interactive, hands-on classrooms online so students could continue learning and teachers could teach from home or in-person without cumbersome equipment constraints.

Ulster BOCES adopted Zoom combined with Neat Bars (and ancillary tools like GoPro cameras) to create an integrated, mobile classroom setup that let teachers move naturally, use Zoom collaboration features, and livestream hands-on instruction in auto shops and culinary labs. The solution delivered seamless hybrid instruction, supported large staff meetings and parent town halls, maintained continuity and stability in instruction, and is now a permanent part of their learning-space toolkit.
