UCP Seguin Uses Zoom to Improve Service Offerings for Chicago-Area Residents with Disabilities, Special Needs

UCP Seguin is a Cicero, Illinois–based nonprofit serving more than 1,200 adults and children with developmental disabilities across the Chicago suburbs through seven day programs, 75 group homes, and 110 family homes. Coordinating regular staff training and meetings across this dispersed footprint forced employees to commute frequently to the main office, driving up mileage reimbursements, travel time, and reducing time available for client care.

After seeing Zoom in action during a merger, UCP Seguin adopted Zoom Meetings and set it up internally to deliver live training and meetings. The move eliminated many commutes, is projected to cut about $12,000 annually in mileage reimbursements, freed up staff time for participants, improved training interactivity, and set the stage for broader deployment of Zoom Rooms to support in‑building collaboration.
