Texas Association of REALTORS® Educates State-Wide With Zoom

The Texas Association of REALTORS®, a trade organization founded in 1920 that serves more than 90,000 members across 640,000 square miles and 89 local associations, faced a growing challenge: delivering required continuing education to small, rural boards where low enrollment made sending instructors prohibitively expensive and classes at risk of cancellation.

The association adopted Zoom (with VTEL IPanel) to consolidate instruction across multiple sites, using a pay-per-student model and low-bandwidth, easy-to-use videoconferencing to maintain quality and uniformity. In 2014 roughly 3,500 students took courses via Zoom, generating about $200,000 in additional revenue and accounting for nearly 40% of the association’s education revenue while expanding access and reducing travel and costs.
