Tech Qualled, a Texas-based nonprofit, gives military veterans a free, intensive seven-week technology sales course and acts as a recruiter to place graduates with tech companies. The challenge was helping veterans—many learning remotely from rural areas and military bases—acquire practical sales skills and let hiring managers nationwide accurately assess candidates’ abilities during the transition to civilian careers.

Tech Qualled uses Zoom’s video-first platform—especially Breakout Rooms, live weekly forums, and guest appearances by subject-matter experts and hiring managers—to deliver interactive, hands-on training and let employers observe candidates in action. The approach has helped place graduates at companies such as Nutanix and Check Point, built a network of 52 hiring partners over four years, and opened lucrative tech sales opportunities veterans didn’t know existed.
