A Zoom Video Communications Case Study
Zoom partnered with the Sundance Film Festival when COVID‑19 made an in‑person January event impossible. The challenge was to recreate the live, interactive festival experience and support filmmakers’ production workflows remotely so premieres, Q&As and creative collaboration could continue despite travel and gathering restrictions.
Sundance integrated Zoom into its custom digital platform as the Official Unified Communications Platform Partner, using it for live premiere Q&As, panels and virtual gatherings and for day‑to‑day production work like composer sessions via screen sharing. The result: the festival successfully ran online, creators stayed connected and collaborative, and audiences could engage in real time—allowing Sundance and filmmakers to deliver a meaningful virtual edition in 2021.
