South Coast Community Services Continues Mental Health Care During COVID-19 With Zoom

South Coast Community Services (SCCS) is one of California’s largest nonprofit mental health agencies, serving more than 10,000 children, adults, and families each year through clinics, in-home, and in-school visits. When COVID-19 halted in-person care, SCCS had to rapidly adopt telehealth but found legacy video tools overly complex and faced client privacy challenges in crowded homes.

SCCS implemented Zoom’s HIPAA-compliant platform, quickly onboarding staff and families and using mobile tablets to give clients private, flexible access to therapy. The solution delivered reliable, easy-to-use video care that allowed SCCS to continue services during the pandemic, serve more patients with the same staff, and make telehealth a lasting part of its service model.
