Red Cross Lower Austria Shifts Paramedic Training, Volunteer Education to Zoom

The Lower Austria Regional Association of the Austrian Red Cross—a network of employees and volunteers that provides ambulance services and other humanitarian aid—faced a sudden disruption when the COVID-19 pandemic made on-site paramedic and rescue training impossible and threatened its ability to keep teams connected and informed.

The organization adopted the Zoom platform to deliver paramedic training, coordinate communications across regional posts, and run volunteer education sessions. This shift allowed them to continue core humanitarian activities remotely and even increased volunteer participation in information sessions held via Zoom.
