A Zoom Video Communications Case Study
Radford University, a public Virginia university with more than 9,400 students across three campuses and several partner institutions, needed a scalable video communications platform to support rapid growth in classroom and administrative use. The university sought a solution that would integrate with its existing telepresence hardware (H.323/SIP), deliver high-quality audio/video, and enable wider participation for remote and consortium students.
Radford piloted and then expanded Zoom—deploying 150 Zoom Pro licenses, five Zoom Rooms, and four H.323/SIP Connectors—to integrate legacy classroom systems and create hybrid learning spaces with multi-screen setups. The platform is now used across classrooms and administrative functions, improving remote student participation, reducing travel for recruiting and meetings, and enabling easier collaboration, training, and resource-sharing with partner institutions.
