A Zoom Video Communications Case Study
PopSockets, a Boulder-based manufacturer founded in 2012 and best known for its smartphone grips, grew rapidly from a small startup into a global business with offices and fulfillment centers across North America, Asia, and Europe. That growth exposed gaps in its communications stack: a legacy video vendor failed to deliver a reliable conferencing solution, the company lacked a scalable digital phone system for a new location, and internal messaging was inconsistent as headcount expanded.
PopSockets adopted Zoom’s unified, video-first platform—Zoom Meetings, Zoom Rooms, and Zoom Phone—after testing trial licenses and simple hardware kits. The cloud-based solution deployed quickly with minimal training, eliminated the need for on-site voice infrastructure, eased provisioning for IT, improved internal and external communications, and is now being rolled out to international offices and a Mexico call center.
