A Zoom Video Communications Case Study
ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC) is a Tokyo-based systems integrator with roughly 19,000 employees that has been driving multi-phase work-style reform since 2004. The company faced a technical and operational challenge deploying video conferencing in a long-standing thin-client/virtual desktop environment—local cameras and devices didn’t link reliably—and needed a secure, easy-to-use solution that improved support, QoS and enabled broader telecommuting.
CTC deployed Zoom Meetings, Zoom Video Webinars and Zoom Rooms across the group (with single sign-on), relying on the cloud for automatic scaling. Adoption grew from ~1,000 daily users in 2018 to ~30,000 at peak in 2020, enabling an over-80% telecommuting rate, low support demand, webinars for up to 5,000 attendees, and a smooth shift to remote work; the rollout also positioned CTC to continue digital transformation and integrate room systems for hybrid work.
