How Zoom Phone Helps K-12 Schools Overcome 3 Big Telephony Challenges

Solano County Office of Education (SCOE) needed a better telephony system after its outdated on-premises phones became costly, difficult to maintain, and hard for staff to use. The legacy system also created mobility problems and privacy concerns for educators, especially when working remotely. Zoom Video Communications, using Zoom Phone, helped SCOE modernize its communications for K-12 schools.

Zoom Video Communications deployed Zoom Phone to 250 users across SCOE headquarters and three campuses, with a small team and no need for a network engineer. The new system gave staff a single work number that followed them anywhere, improved remote communication, protected personal privacy, and added useful features like call queues, SMS, softphone, and call delegation. SCOE also reduced desk phone usage and improved support for parents and staff.
