A Zoom Video Communications Case Study
19Labs, a remote healthcare provider serving rural indigenous communities in Latin America, needed a scalable, secure, and low-bandwidth telemedicine solution for its GALE eClinic platform. The company had to support limited infrastructure, intermittent connectivity, and non-healthcare operators while keeping costs and training time low. To meet these challenges, 19Labs turned to Zoom Video Communications and its Zoom Video SDK.
Zoom Video Communications helped 19Labs build video consultations into the GALE eClinic and GALE Android app, with features for augmented reality, diagnostics sharing, live translation, and transcription. The result was a more powerful remote care experience that let providers view medical data during calls, support exams and ultrasound consultations over poor connectivity, and cut training time to just hours. 19Labs says Zoom’s low-bandwidth performance has enabled care even in very remote areas, including during a hurricane, while improving access across Latin America.
