A Zoom Video Communications Case Study
Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services (HCDDS), a Hamilton County, Ohio agency founded in 1968 that serves more than 8,000 people annually, faced legacy communication systems that created poor user experiences for staff and constituents. The COVID-19 pandemic made the need for a reliable, easy-to-use remote collaboration and case-management solution urgent.
HCDDS piloted and then rolled out Zoom Meetings, Zoom Phone, Zoom Rooms, Zoom Chat, and Zoom Video Webinars, which proved cost-effective and simple to manage. The platform improved accessibility (live transcription/closed captioning), increased meeting attendance and participation, enhanced staff work–life balance, and reduced support overhead—permanently modernizing service delivery and enabling broader adoption across local schools and agencies.
