A Zoom Video Communications Case Study
Zoom partnered with the American Handwriting Analysis Foundation and its Campaign for Cursive to confront a growing loss of handwriting skills—cursive being phased out of schools and many people going months without writing by hand. The decline threatens motor and cognitive development and erodes a unique form of personal identity, so the foundation needed a way to quickly scale outreach and reintroduce handwriting’s benefits.
Using Zoom’s easy, fast meetings, mobile screen sharing and active-speaker view, the campaign runs larger, more engaging virtual sessions than an average conference room would allow. The platform expanded the initiative’s reach, raised awareness of handwriting’s cognitive and developmental value, and positioned technology as a tool to revive handwriting education and rehabilitation.
