Florida Hospital Makes the Most Out of Zoom with Video Carts & Mobile Clinics

Florida Hospital, a large not-for-profit healthcare provider with 22 campuses celebrating its 110th anniversary, needed a dependable telehealth solution to connect clinicians across the globe. Existing bridges would overload when multiple endpoints joined and tools like Polycom and Lifesize suffered packet loss on unreliable Wi‑Fi, so the hospital required video carts in operating rooms and mobile clinics to allow remote doctors to see and assess patients instantly.

Florida Hospital deployed Zoom’s platform — using global data centers and an H.323 connector — and outfitted surgery rooms and mobile clinics with Zoom Rooms on carts. The result is high‑quality, error‑corrected video that lets specialists collaborate in real time during surgeries, speeds patient assessments and discharges, reduces ER wait times, and supports mobile outreach (including solar trailers headed to Puerto Rico) for remote care.
