Cobb County School District Built Zoom Into Its Custom LMS for a Future-Forward Digital Experience

Cobb County School District, a K–12 system in suburban Atlanta serving roughly 110,000+ students and 9,000 teachers, needed to rapidly deliver a robust remote learning experience during the COVID‑19 pandemic and accelerate its long-term digital education plans to give families more choice and flexibility. The district’s challenge was to add synchronous video into its custom learning management system (CTLS) without forcing teachers and students to jump between multiple tools, while ensuring reliability and scale for district‑wide daily use.

Working with Edincites, Cobb integrated Zoom into CTLS using webhooks and APIs to create a seamless in‑platform classroom where students join live sessions, recordings are auto‑archived, and workflows remain centralized. The solution rolled out in days, delivered a roughly 97% student login rate, supported more than 4.4 million Zoom sessions across the district, reliably served daily instruction for about 105,000 students, and continues to enable flexible in‑person and remote learning options.
