Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Trust achieves WCAG 2.2 accessibility with Zoocha

Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Trust sought a new public-facing digital platform to serve its diverse stakeholders, including patients, carers, and medical professionals, following a hospital merger. The Trust needed a solution that prioritized accessibility and usability, understanding that users often access information during times of distress. They partnered with vendor Zoocha for this project, which utilized Drupal.

Zoocha implemented the solution by first conducting an extensive discovery phase that engaged over 770 users. The resulting platform featured an intuitive Apache Solr search and custom accessible resources. The new site achieved full WCAG 2.2 accessibility compliance, won an award for accessibility in healthcare, and successfully serves the Trust's 2.5 million patients and 10 million annual site visitors.
