Sahale Snacks, a Seattle-based maker of natural snacks founded in 2003, needed to increase production and reduce out-of-specification time on its lines. Facing manual, paper-based data collection that pulled operators away from machines and provided no real-time reporting or alerts, Sahale implemented Zontec’s Synergy 1000 Statistical Process Control (SPC) software.

Zontec’s Synergy 1000 provided real-time measurements and alerts that reduced waste and downtime, cut overpack (giving away less product), and enabled immediate process adjustments. As a result Sahale met its expected $16,000 ROI, recovered roughly one-third of operators’ workday and about one hour per day for QA staff, justified a new scale with a $61,000 ROI, and used Synergy 1000 data to validate mixing performance for new product development.
