MET Plastics Uses Synergy to Speed Up Certification Process

MET Plastics, a low‑volume precision injection molder supplying aerospace, defense, medical and foodservice OEMs, struggled to track measurement trends on very short runs (as short as two hours) while maintaining tight tolerances and fast throughput. To address this, MET Plastics turned to Zontec and its Synergy 1000 SPC software to improve real‑time data capture and trend detection on the shop floor.

Zontec’s Synergy 1000 was implemented to simplify setup, capture run charts and convert to Cpks with a few clicks, and alert staff when processes trended out of control. The result: setup times dropped dramatically (parts set up in minutes), quality staffing needs fell (saving about 14 hours a day), throughput increased, issues are detected sooner, and MET Plastics has freed time and data to pursue AS9100 and ISO 13485 certifications—work that would otherwise have required hiring additional staff and taken 1–2 years longer.
