IT vendor operates more effectively with new UC environment

Cisco needed to modernize its unified communications environment across North America, Europe, and Asia after relying on end-of-life Cisco MCS servers and an outdated version of Cisco Unified Communications Manager. Cisco engaged Zones, Inc. to assess the existing environment and create a migration plan that would fit its timeline while minimizing disruption.

Zones, Inc. implemented a phased migration to Cisco UCS C-Series servers and the latest supported Cisco Unified Communications Manager, along with upgrades to Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, Cisco IM and Presence, Prime Collaboration Deployment, VMware vSphere ESXi, and more than 100 voice gateways. The project improved operations through policy-driven automation, lowered support costs, added native video endpoint and Office 365 voicemail support, and increased IT agility, all while successfully replacing 14 servers without delays.
