Unified Communications Company worked with Zones, Inc. to address an aging Cisco unified communications environment that was costly to maintain and lacked some advanced capabilities. The city needed to upgrade Cisco Unified Communications Manager software, repair and maintain UC servers, justify hardware support licenses, and add features such as automatic call distribution and better reporting.

Zones, Inc. upgraded the Cisco UC platform, repaired a server with help from Cisco TAC, and completed after-hours updates to Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Emergency Responder with no disruption to city staff or citizens. Zones also delivered a proof of concept for Cisco Jabber and Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, then rationalized licenses and consolidated support, helping the customer achieve more than $160,000 in savings while improving collaboration, productivity, and overall system stability.
