Valley Metro Delivers Smart Mass Transit with Smart Fleet Management Technologies

Valley Metro, the regional transit agency serving the Phoenix area, was struggling with DOT-required pre- and post-trip inspections because drivers used paper booklets that were slow, error-prone and susceptible to “pencil whipping,” creating inaccurate records and security risks.

Valley Metro deployed Zonar’s EVIR on the Zonar 2010 along with the V3 telematics unit and Ground Traffic Control, using RFID-tagged inspection zones to force verified visual checks and send reports in real time.
