P&B Transport, Inc., a family-owned carrier with more than 50 trucks and 86 trailers serving the northeastern U.S. and Quebec, needed to transition from paper hours-of-service records to ELDs while improving driver safety and fleet efficiency. Drivers initially struggled with software adoption and the company wanted better visibility into vehicle health and on-road behavior.

P&B implemented Zonar solutions — Zonar Logs on Connect tablets for ELDs, Zonar Coach smart dashcams, V4 telematics, and Detroit Connect Virtual Technician diagnostics — to streamline compliance, coach drivers and monitor truck performance. The fleet quickly adopted electronic logs (only two HOS violations in 2018), roadside inspections became simpler, unsafe behaviors were corrected (including one driver’s removal), downtime dropped to nearly zero, and fuel efficiency and driver engagement improved through data-driven incentives.
