Paratransit fleet enhances service levels and ensures safe travel

GoDurham ACCESS, operated by National Express Transit, is an ADA paratransit service in Durham, NC that runs 58 vehicles to transport 400–500 riders daily. The fleet needed reliable real-time vehicle tracking, consistent maintenance and verified inspections, safe on-time performance on non-fixed routes, and a way to fairly and quickly resolve rider complaints.

GoDurham deployed Zonar’s smart fleet solutions—Ground Traffic Control, Live Maps, V4 hardware, EVIR and tablets—to monitor vehicle location and health, provide turn-by-turn guidance, verify inspections electronically, and capture objective trip data. The result was improved on-time performance and fewer breakdowns from prioritized maintenance, faster complaint resolution (including exonerating drivers when appropriate), easier navigation for drivers, and overall greater operational efficiency.
