Case Study: Jordan School District achieves real-time visibility of 300+ vehicles with Zonar Systems

A Zonar Systems Case Study

Preview of the Jordan School District Case Study

Utah’s largest school district unifies more than 300 vehicles on 1 platform

Jordan School District, the largest district in Utah serving nearly 16,000 students across 60 schools, operates a fleet of more than 300 vehicles (290 buses, including 130 CNG buses, and 35 vans) and covers over 2.6 million miles annually. After splitting into two geographic areas and seeing uneven growth, the district needed unified, real-time visibility to support drivers and routes, answer parent inquiries accurately, ensure thorough vehicle inspections, and streamline hours-of-service compliance.

JSD implemented Zonar’s fleet management platform—including V4 and LD TCUs, Ground Traffic Control, Z Pass, MyView, EVIR and Zonar 2010—to centralize tracking, geofencing and electronically verifiable inspections. The result: real-time visibility into 300+ vehicles, faster, data-backed responses to parents, teacher alerts for special-needs pickups, verified pre-trip inspections that improve vehicle health and repair prioritization, easier HoS reporting, and more efficient deployment of backup resources.
