3Jane Digital Holdings Inc. develops social networks and consulting services for major brands, but its mixed environment of Linux and Windows servers, Exchange, and MySQL applications made centralized backup and recovery difficult. The company needed a scalable, cost-effective way to protect large volumes of rapidly changing data without impacting application performance.

3Jane implemented zmanda’s Amanda Enterprise and Zmanda Recovery Manager for MySQL, with local backups and duplicate copies stored in Amazon S3 for off-site disaster recovery. The solution enabled centralized backup management across 15 Linux servers, two Windows servers, one Exchange server, and seven MySQL databases, while reducing the time spent building and maintaining custom backup tools and lowering training and operational costs.
