Visionworks, a leading U.S. eye care and retail chain with more than 750 stores and 4,600+ optometrists, technicians and retail associates, struggled with fragmented communications—weekly mail-outs, binders, emails and calls—that consumed at least 25% of frontline time and made consistent store execution difficult. To address this, Visionworks partnered with Zipline to implement a centralized frontline communications and task-management platform.
Zipline replaced paper binders and cascaded emails with a single digital source of truth that enables targeted messaging, task assignment and real‑time tracking; the change drove measurable impact: ~1.2 million fewer sheets of paper (~79.3 tons CO2), $234,000 saved in ground shipping (and ~49.6 tons CO2 avoided), elimination of 18,000+ shipping boxes (~50 tons CO2), over $6,000 saved in overnight shipping, a 10% reduction in operating costs, and strong adoption—surveying 3,000 associates found 100% say Zipline makes operations easier and helps engage teams, with 95% finding information easier to locate and 91% reporting time savings.
