Bala Rides the At-Home Fitness Wave with a Modern Payment Solution

Bala, a design-driven "movement company" known for Bala Bangles, Bala Bars and the Power Ring, needed a seamless payment option to support heavy pre-orders and customers who wanted to stagger payments. To meet that demand they adopted Zip’s buy now, pay later solution (implemented via the Quadpay offering) so buyers could pay the first installment at checkout and the remaining installments around the product ship date.

Zip integrated quickly with Bala’s Shopify checkout and customers responded positively, helping Bala scale rapidly: a 1200% rise in monthly transaction volume after their Shark Tank appearance/COVID demand spike, a 51% increase in average order value, more than 200% week‑over‑week growth in sales processed through Zip, and a 25% customer repeat rate. Zip’s BNPL solution made checkout easier, increased order sizes and supported repeat purchases as Bala expanded.
