The Color Run, the world’s largest 5K event series with events in over 40 countries and 220 cities, needed to harness word-of-mouth from happy runners and turn participant enthusiasm into measurable brand recommendations. To solve this they partnered with Zinrelo, deploying its loyalty rewards capabilities and the Zinrelo “Refer-a-Friend” app to capture referrals directly on location-specific homepages without sending visitors off-site.
Zinrelo embedded a customizable, branded referral popup that let participants share personalized messages with their social circles, converting event attendees into brand ambassadors. The program drove a 12.32% interaction conversion rate (and a 9.55% sales conversion), delivered high-quality, event-specific traffic, and established measurable online virality and uplift in referrals for The Color Run.
